Preparations - E-sims to In-soles

Preparations

Preparations abound in the Vernon household with two weeks to go until big Arl and wee Kev head off to Australia and beyond. The list of things to -do seems to be like an interview with Columbo - "One more thing." E-sims have been purchased but not activated. That process will no doubt be stress free and help bring Arlene and I closer. I'm also nearly sure visas are sorted. I have printed of all of them just to prove that they are surely near sorted should anyone be interested. Cash in five currencies has been collected just to increase the number of things to worry about by five and a new pair of blue suede shoes will now adorn my feet but only after the obligatory in-soles are added. Debate is lively within the command centre on whether compression socks are the next geriatric purchase. I'll keep you posted on that one.

Practice Packing

We had a practice pack during the week. We bought smaller cases as the thinking was that we cannot pack for the duration of the trip and we reckon that like rats, we will never be more than a week away from a washing machine. So one weeks clothes it is. I noted what I managed to squeeze into the case. The more observant of you will note that the pyjama count was after extensive discussion and agonising, reduced from two to one. I predict that there will be consequences to that decision. A final call on two more tee-shirts and two more short sleeved shirts needs made before it is too late. Why "1 Tripod" is on this list is beyond me. The clothes listed are now in a pile upstairs no doubt serving well as a dog bed. You can see the pair of pyjamas that will have so much work do reverently placed at the top of the pile.
