Preparations - Part Three
So a haircut was had. Usual place. Guaranteed not a word to be spoken after the required guidance - "Number four, back and sides. General tidy. Thank you." Even though I tempted him with, "I'm going away for five weeks so I'll be overdue by the time I get back." He didn't even blink. Wonderful resolve and worthy of a tip.
Other developments have complicated the compression socks issue. Our friendly neighbourhood Pharmacist and recent traveller to Australia has recommended oral prophylaxis. And by that he means Aspirin 25mg for a few days prior to travel. I queried him on possible gastric side-effects and he reminded me of the fact that back in the day we were routinely dosed with 300mg dissolved in a tea spoon at the merest hint of a malady. "Never did us any harm." All I can say is that it is probably too early to say.
Our friendly neighbourhood Pharmacist didn't stop there. Quizzed on how he managed jet lag he reported that he did not and suffered quite badly. He suggested taking melatonin tablets. We have now procured some through some dodgy looking online pharmacy. I'll keep you posted on what these actually do for us.
